Honoring Our Mothers: The Spiritual Bouquet and Mass
Enrollment
Dear Parish Family,
As Mother’s Day approaches, we look for ways to express our love that often defies simple words. While flowers fade and cards are eventually tucked away, the gift of prayer offers a lasting grace. This year, St. John’s parish invites you to take part in a meaningful spiritual offering for the women in your life through a Mother’s Day Spiritual Bouquet and Mass Enrollment.
A novena is a tradition of nine consecutive days of prayer and masses, offered for specific intentions. Beginning on the Friday before Mother’s Day and continuing each day through Mother’s Day, we will dedicate each day of the novena to a different group of mothers, lifting them up intentionally in prayer.
Throughout the novena, we will pray for: grandmothers, biological mothers, adoptive mothers, foster mothers, stepmothers, godmothers, mothers to be, single mothers, and women longing to be mothers. On Mother’s Day, we unite all mothers together at all our weekend mothers.
Rather than simply remembering them, this is an opportunity to truly pray for them, whether they are living or deceased. Those enrolled will be remembered throughout all nine days of prayers, forming a collective spiritual bouquet, a gift of grace, love, and intercession offered to every mother included.
How to Enroll: Use the link below and fill out the form to include your mother or loved ones in our novena. You may also approach our office for enrollment. As part of this spiritual offering, a free will donation is welcomed, similar to a Mass intention. All are encouraged to participate. Let us come together as a parish family to spiritually lift up the mothers who have shaped our lives, entrusting them to the care of our Blessed Mother and the love of Christ.
As part of our Mother’s Day Novena enrollment, mothers attending Mass will receive a carnation and a prayer card as a small token of love and gratitude from St. John’s Parish.
